The Abersychan Limekilns served a big limestone quarry.

The road is even named after the industry now!

The Abersychan Limekilns started out, in 1880, as a small single kiln associated with the adjacent quarry. However, by 1920, had grown into this massive limekiln with a much bigger quarry!

The quarry carried on into the 1960s, by which time lime burning appears to have ceased.
