The Mayflower Steam Tug is the World’s oldest steam tug!
Yes! – built in Bristol, at Pooles Wharf and launched on 18th May 1861, she worked hard all her life, guiding the big cumbersome floaters, on the ship canal between Sharpness and Gloucester.
Now she has returned to Bristol and given the respect she deserves.
The best bit is, is that if you time your visit correctly, you can get a ride around Bristol harbour!
She is owned by and has been restored by the M Shed; and it is they who conduct the harbour tours on her.
