Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway has the only standard-gauge rail-over-rail bridge within preservation!

It is also the highest preserved standard-gauge line in the UK!

The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway is a 2-mile (3.2 km) heritage railway in South Wales. It is entirely volunteer-run and trains run between a halt platform opposite the Whistle Inn pub (famed for its collection of miners’ lamps) via a two-platform station at the site of former colliery furnace of the Big Pit National Coal Museum.

They operate on weekends between Easter and the beginning of September, selected Wednesdays during July and August and then certain days in October and December.
