
Rosefield Mills was a major tweed factory in Dumfries.
The beautiful red brick buildings were built in 1885/6 by Alan Crombie.
The beautiful Rosefield Mills in Dumfries are now derelict, but were once a proud and bustling textile indutry, producing the finest tweed.
The riverside mill dated is actually dated 1886 and is a tall 2-storey Venetian-style, red brick ornate monument to the success of of the company, with sandstone dressings!
There is also a 2-storey Franco-Venetian office block, dated 1889 and later frontages added.
Dumfries Historic Buildings Trust are running an appeal to raise the funds to acquire the wonderful buildings, read all about it – HERE!
