It opened in 1980 and expanded in 1986.
Merseyside Maritime Museum occupies warehouse block D at the Albert Dock in Liverpool, along with the Piermaster’s House, Canning Half Tide Dock and Canning Graving Docks.
Entry to the museum and all of the events and exhibitions is FREE!
Free tours of Liverpool’s revolutionary Old Dock – the world’s first commercial enclosed wet dock – are also now available and can be booked from Merseyside Maritime Museum – HERE!
The Old Dock was discovered during excavations in 2001 after being buried since 1826.
